Overview
A tax accountant sought a WordPress website that exuded a minimal and classy aesthetic. They provided us with creative freedom to design and develop the site, with a focus on custom animations, a unique calculator plugin, speed optimization, and robust security.
Design and Development
Design: The project began with a detailed design phase on Figma. The client’s approval of the design led to the frontend development using Astra Pro and Elementor Pro. The goal was to maintain a sleek and professional look while incorporating interactive elements.
Custom Animations: To enhance user engagement, I implemented custom animations using JavaScript libraries, plain vanilla JavaScript, and CSS animations. A standout feature was a custom vertical scroll section, which allowed the presentation of lengthy content in a visually appealing manner, avoiding an overly text-heavy appearance.
Custom Calculator Plugin: The client required a specific calculator functionality not available in existing plugins. They wanted the calculator to display a price range rather than a single figure. I developed a custom plugin that featured a multi-step form, where each input value corresponded to a range of numbers. This feature accurately calculated and displayed a price range based on user inputs.
Speed Optimization: After development, I focused on optimizing the website’s performance. I utilized Cloudflare CDN, caching, and image optimization techniques to achieve a perfect score of 100 in Google PageSpeed Insights. These measures ensured fast loading times and improved overall user experience.
Security: To guarantee robust security, I implemented several protective measures. These included changing the login URL and MySQL table prefix, enforcing secure passwords, making server-level adjustments, and restricting access to server files.
Outcome
The result was a visually appealing, high-performance website with enhanced security and bespoke functionalities that met the client’s specific needs. The combination of a refined design, custom features, and optimized performance provided the tax accountant with a professional online presence that stood out in their industry.
